In our last live session, the Kansas students learned that increased desertification is one of the concerns of global warming. The food supply for many people has been reduced because of drought in their countries. It is difficult to find something that young people can do that will impact the situation in a positive way. The "freerice" website raises awareness and allows students to help. We have been using the above site to improve vocabulary and donate rice to those in need. The UN distributes the rice with funds earned through the advertisements on this site. The creators are a nonprofit organization. We thought you might enjoy using this site to practice English. We wish we could practice Spanish with it. El sitio Web, freerice les hace tomar conciencia y a la vez les permite colaborar. Han estado usando el sitio para mejorar el vocabulario y donar arroz para los necesitados. El arroz se puede distribuir gracias al aporte de la publicidad en el sitio. Una organización sin fines de lucro fue la creadora del sitio. Invitan a usar el sitio que además, les ayuda a practicar el inglés y dicen que les encantaría practicar español con este sitio.
