Hi, my name is Abby and I am 12. I love to read, sing, and play all kinds of sports, but my favorite is basketball. The best thing about my town is that my friends are always close enough to hang out. In bigger towns some kids have friends that live across town and can’t come and hang out a lot, but mine can. Global warming is meaningful to me because if it gets too warm the oceans will flood the earth and many people will have to relocate and some could be hurt by the severe storms. We might also run out of water because the salt water will mix with the fresh water and turn it salty.

Hola, mi nonbre es Abby, tengo 12 años. Me encanta leer, cantar y jugar a todo tipo de deportes pero mi favorito es el balóncesto. Lo mejor de mi ciudad es que mis amigos están siempre cerca para encontrarlos. En algunas ciudades los amigos viven muy lejos y no puedes verlos siempre, pero yo puedo. El calentamiento global es importante para mi porque si el clima se hace muy cálido los océanos inundarán la tierra y la gente se tendrá que mudar y muchos quedarán heridos por las fuertes tormentas. También puede faltar el agua potable, porque el agua salada se puede mezclar con el agua potable y hacerla salada.

My name is Charlie from Eureka. I like to play sports like baseball, football, and wrestling. I like to play video games, hunt, and fish. I love to play poker. I also like to ride my 4-wheeler. I like Eureka because it has a lake, a city pool and a baseball diamond. Global warming can affect us by having too much carbon dioxide in the air. It can cause severe storms, like in 2007 at Greensburg, Kansas there was a category 5 tornado on a scale from 1 to 5, that hit and flattened everything. In Coffeyville, Kansas there was a major flood and everybody had to evacuate their homes, a refinery left a valve open and the oil over flowed into the flood waters, when the flood hit. People could not even go into the yards because the water in the yards was poisonous by the oil.

Mi nombre es Charlie, soy de Eureka. Me gustan los deportes como el béisbol, fútbol y la lucha.
Me gusta jugar a los video juegos, cazar y pescar. Me gusta jugar al póquer. También me gusta montar mi cuatriciclo. Me gusta Eureka porque tiene un lago, una piscina de la ciudad y un campo de béisbol. El calentamiento global nos puede afectar porque aumenta la cantidad de dióxido de carbono en el aire. Puede causar tormentas severas, como la de Greensburg, kansas, en el 2007, donde hubo un tornado categoría de una escala de 1 a 5 que arrasó con todo. En Coffeville, Kansas, hubo un gran inundación y todo el mundo tuvo que dejar sus casas, una refinería dejó una válvula abierta y el petróleo se mezcló con el agua de la inundacón. La gente no podía ir a sus patios porque estaban contaminados con el petróleo.
